FAQ's - For Government

Q. WHAT'S REQUIRED TO MAKE MY LOCAL BEACH ACCESSIBLE?

Every environment presents different challenges, but beach accessibility is generally a lot easier to achieve than most councils first envisage. Our experience in consulting with councils includes effective resolution of additional concerns such as approach ramps, insurance, operations, storage, other facilities (such as bathrooms), serviceability, media and marketing of a newly created installation. Often the best way to get started is to host an accessible beach day trial, enabling councillors to see for themselves how simple and effective an installation can be.

Q: HOW DO I ARRANGE AN ACCESSIBLE BEACH TRIAL DAY AND WHAT ARE THE COSTS?

If you represent a council, use the get involved page to request an accessible beach day. Many of these events are hosted free of charge if we can fit it in with an existing campaign schedule, otherwise we can make a special appearance for a fee.

Q. HOW MUCH DO THE PRODUCTS COST?

Generally each installation costs less than a small bus shelter, and certainly much less than competing product manufacturers would lead you to believe, especially when you take into account the long product life, the serviceability in every state, the premium nature of the products, and the fact that they every product we recommend is specifically approved for use as disability equipment. Upon request, we can also source the same sub-standard products that our competitors do, but these offer a very sub-standard experience to users, and we think they deserve a good experience. The beach matting is highly visible and sits very flat to the surface. We are unaware of a single case or claim against any of the 2000+ accessible beaches (or their respective operators) in the world.

Q. DOES THE BEACH MATTING PRESENT AS A TRIPPING HAZARD?
