About the beach
The Harbour has been developed to be accessible to all – providing some unique facilities to cater for people with disabilities, including a universal access floating pontoon, fishing platform, beach access pathway, a beach wheelchair, accessible barbeque facilities, drinking fountains and hotel rooms specifically tailored for people with limited mobility.
A permanent pathway constructed of special beach matting allows people with limited mobility to directly access the water at our swimming cove.
A free beach wheelchair is available to hire from the City of Joondalup. Book via the City’s Facilities Booking Office: 9:30am to 5pm Mon–Fri and limited times on the weekend. The key can be collected from the City’s bookings office and the wheelchair is located at the Sorrento Surf Life Saving Club building in the Harbour.
The accessible fishing platform is located at the northern end of the Harbor beyond Hillarys Yacht Club, this accessible fishing platform is designed for people with limited mobility.
A Universal Access Floating Pontoon allows people with limited mobility to easily board and disembark from vessels.
