About the beach
There are so many great accessible facilities at this beach including plenty of accessible parking, accessible barbeques, shaded seating area and accessible showers, allowing for a great day out. The accessible beach program is run out of Kurrawa Surf Club The toilet block with accessible toilet is a short walk from the surf club and there is a wide pathway along the beachfront that goes from Broadbeach to Surfers Paradise which is about 3km.
There is disabled parking at the front of the surf club with approximately 10 spaces but these are in 3 different sections, one that can take mini buses x 4 and the others at the other end of the car park near the toilet block. The surf club is in the centre of a large beachside park that has the bbq’s, shelters, toilets, and kids play area, with a cafe/coffee shop downstairs, and restaurant upstairs.
Additionally, over the road is a shopping mall that has heaps of parking, restaurants, cafes, coffee shops and a tavern all wheelchair accessible. The beach wheelchair is available Monday-Friday 10:00am-3:00pm and can be booked by either calling the surf club on 0755275660 or send me an email to lifesaving@kurrawasurf.com.au. The beach wheelchair can also be accessed by asking the lifesavers on patrol.
