About the beach
Bar Beach, Cooks Hill Newcastle features a patrolled beach with an adjacent rock pool. It has sheltered picnic tables surrounding the beach, as well as a kiosk.
With a recent redevelopment, the Cooks Hill Surf Life Saving Club now has many more accessible features.
Bar Beach is also known for its Anzac Walk, which takes in some of the best views of Newcastle around the clifftops.
