About the beach

Probably the most famous beach in Australia, Bondi Beach is a must-see destination for Australians and tourists alike. Boasting 1km of stunning beach and home to one of the oldest Surf Life Saving Clubs in Australia, Bondi beach has something for everyone.

Beach mats are sometimes in use at Bondi Beach surf and weather conditions permitting. They are located at the northern end ramp of Bondi Beach, near Wally Weekes pool.

Surrounded by beautiful parklands, Bondi Beach also has a great variety of shops, restaurants and take away places to choose from.

Waverley Council has beach wheelchairs available for both adults and kids, so everyone can enjoy the sand and sea

You’ll find them located in North Bondi, right on the promenade across from the public washrooms. They’re free to book for short-term use, and perfect for cruising on sand or grass.
