About the beach
Emu Park is a small holiday town that has long been a popular tourist destination. Emu Park and its beaches comprise an attractive, relatively quiet, regional Queensland coastal town. It is the place to head to avoid all the trappings of Yeppoon, with the added attraction of a nice patrolled beach.
Emu Park beach, located on the south side of the point, is 1.2 km long and faces due east, with low Rocky Point forming the southern boundary and a rock outcrop on the centre of the beach.
It is patrolled on Saturday afternoons and Sundays from mid-September through to Labour Day, with patrols increasing to all day on Saturdays between November to February. Additionally there is always a Lifeguard on duty during the Easter Holidays.
